St Regis Tower Chicago | Wall Art
Regis Tower and Chicago River skyline
The St. Regis Tower Chicago, also known as Vista Tower, is a new construction at 363 East Wacker in the downtown Lakeshore East neighborhood. One thousand one hundred ninety-one feet tall, the 3rd tallest in Chicago, with views of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. Designed by Jeanne Gang and her team at Studio Gang Architects, it has three volumes of different heights connected to create its wavy shape.
The St. Regis Chicago Residences offer the ultimate in luxury living with a resident-only amenity floor. The amenities are unparalleled, with an outdoor pool, indoor pool, golf lounge, and fitness center. Residents also have private dining rooms and a fine-dining restaurant with culinary creations by Chef Hisanobu Osaka. For the ultimate indulgence, full-floor penthouses provide city skyline views.
The Regis Chicago merges luxury with the urban environment thanks to its proximity to the Chicago Riverwalk and the vibrant Lakeshore East neighborhood. Developed by Magellan Development Group and designed by Studio Gang, the building is a skyscraper and enhances public space with its outdoor terrace and green space on top. This tower has an innovative structural system to reduce wind forces and balance form and function.
Awarded for design and engineering, the St. Regis Chicago was a Best Tall Building Americas nominee. Its wavy volumes and reflective glass facade allow it to dissolve into the city’s changing weather, sometimes disappearing into the fog or reflecting the sun. The pedestrian connection with the surroundings is the icing on the cake of its many urban connections, making it the heart of the downtown Lakeshore East neighborhood.
I took this monochrome photo on an architecture river cruise, and the St. Regis Tower reaching up to the clouds captivated me. The relationship between the building and its surroundings felt like the perfect harmony between nature and modernism. Seeing it dissolve into the mist above the Chicago River and Lake Michigan made me realize the St. Regis Chicago, Illinois, is not just a building; it’s a part of the city itself.
