Old tree grows out of a rock face against all odds | Wall Art
This fine art photo was taken near my studio in Haliburton, Ontario in 2007. It’s about a 45-minute hike into the forest, where this tree is rooted into the rock wall along a small river in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. Although the tree died long ago, all that remains is the hardwood stump. I am drawn to the graffiti that has been carved into the tree. I also love how the tree is juxtaposed against the wet granite stone wall from the Candian shield.
