This towering skyscraper, the largest unfinished Catholic church in the world, resides in the heart of Barcelona, Spain, silently narrating stories of epochs gone by. Its construction began in 1882 and and saw the transformative touch of Gaudí, who brilliantly fused Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouveau forms into a unique architectural expression. Even though Gaudí devoted his entire life to this masterpiece, at the time of his departure in 1926, the Basilica was less than a quarter completed.
Fast forward to today, the graffiti on its old walls speak volumes of the city’s vibrant street art culture.
