Endless Highway Wyoming – A Journey Through Time and Landscape
My experiences heavily influence my work as an artist and photographer. During a solitary journey, I stumbled upon a never-ending highway in Wyoming. I was captivated by the timeless landscape and the special connection between human intervention and untouched wilderness. The resulting photograph depicts this profound interaction and contrasts.
Wyoming’s story is as vast as its landscapes, traced back 13,000 years to ancient cultures and extensive trading networks. European explorers, fur trappers, and the Union Pacific Railroad have all shaped its identity while maintaining its free spirit.
The photograph embodies Wyoming’s unique geography, half covered by the Rocky Mountains and rangelands and the other half by the High Plains. The black-and-white hues emphasize the juxtaposition of the paved highway and the rugged terrain, a silent testament to Wyoming’s storied past and its enduring presence.
